The Importance of Closing the Loop
The Importance of Closing the Loop

Closing the loop means buying products made from recycled materials. This completes the recycling process, turning what was once waste back into something useful.

By choosing recycled, you support businesses that use these materials, reducing the need to extract virgin resources, and therefore minimizing environmental damage. This also prevents recycled materials from ending up in landfills. Think of it as giving materials a second life, rather than a one-way trip to the dump.

When you buy recycled products, you're not just making a purchase; you're casting a vote for sustainability. You demonstrate to businesses that there is a market for recycled goods. This increased demand encourages investment in more recycling infrastructure and innovation, furthering the circular economy and benefiting everyone. By closing the loop, we reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote a healthier Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Look for products with recycled content labels. These are often found on packaging. Even small purchases add up to create big impacts. Be part of the solution: choose recycled whenever possible!
